In brief:<\/strong> Line N (Notturno)<\/strong> is Venice’s central night vaporetto line<\/strong>. It takes over at night when the daytime lines line 1<\/a> and line 2<\/a> stop running, connecting the Grand Canal<\/strong> and the Giudecca Canal<\/strong> in a loop: San Zaccaria \u2014 Giudecca \u2014 Tronchetto \u2014 Piazzale Roma \u2014 Ferrovia \u2014 Rialto \u2014 San Marco \u2014 Lido. It runs roughly from 23:30 into the early hours<\/strong> (until around 04:30\u201305:00), about every 30 minutes. The regular ACTV fare applies (single ride \u20ac9.50, included in the 24-hour pass).<\/p><\/section>\n\n\n\n

When does line N run?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Line N picks up where the daytime lines leave off: line 1<\/a> has its last departure around 23:41<\/strong>, after which line N is the continuous Grand Canal connection until services resume in the early morning. It runs roughly from 23:30 until around 04:30\u201305:00<\/strong>, about every 30 minutes \u2014 exact departure times shift slightly by season and direction. The notices at the piers and the official AVM\/Venezia Unica app are authoritative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Route and key stops<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unlike the pure Grand Canal line 1, line N runs a ring loop<\/strong> across both of the city’s great waterways \u2014 the Giudecca Canal in the south and the Grand Canal in the north. That means practically all the central piers are served at night too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because line N runs a loop, it pays to check the direction of travel<\/strong> at the pier before boarding: depending on whether you board clockwise or anticlockwise, you reach your destination faster. If in doubt, ask the pier staff or check the direction in the AVM app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
