In a nutshell:<\/strong> In a life-threatening emergency<\/strong> call 112<\/strong> (the single European emergency number) or 118<\/strong> (ambulance) \u2014 free of charge; a foreign SIM card is enough. For non-urgent<\/strong> medical help (including at night, on Sundays and public holidays) the number across the whole ULSS 4 is 116117<\/strong> (free, around the clock, multilingual). During the day the coastal resorts run seasonal tourist clinics<\/strong> (Medicina Turistica) \u2014 examination, prescription, medical certificate. These services are chargeable<\/strong> for visitors. Bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Upset stomach, sunstroke, an insect sting with a reaction, a sprained ankle \u2014 things can happen on a beach holiday. This guide shows you, for Jesolo, Bibione, Caorle, Cavallino-Treporti, Eraclea Mare<\/strong> (all ULSS 4 Veneto) and Lignano<\/strong> (Friuli), where to turn: in a real emergency, and for minor complaints during the day and at night \u2014 with the current phone numbers and addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New in summer 2026 \u2014 the strengthened ULSS 4 network<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ULSS 4 Veneto Orientale has significantly expanded its summer programme “Vacanze in Salute” 2026 \u2014 around 5.2 million euros<\/strong>, about 200 specialists<\/strong> (doctors, nurses, staff) plus interpreters and five first-aid points<\/strong> along the coast. What matters for visitors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • 24\/7 night triage for the first time:<\/strong> at the first-aid points in Bibione, Caorle and Cavallino-Treporti<\/strong>, nurse-led triage is staffed around the clock for the first time in 2026 \u2014 including at night \u2014 by ULSS 4 nurses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Jesolo hospital upgraded:<\/strong> an orthopaedist<\/strong> on site throughout the summer (for falls, sports and beach injuries), a paediatrician<\/strong> for families and reinforced radiology<\/strong> (faster diagnostics, fewer transfers to other hospitals).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Multiple languages:<\/strong> interpreters on duty, plus the multilingual number 116117<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Rule of thumb:<\/strong> in real danger always 112<\/strong>. For “I need a doctor but it is not an emergency”, 116117<\/strong> is the right route \u2014 it keeps A&E free. In Lignano (Friuli) a separate system applies (see below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • 1530<\/strong> \u2014 Italian Coast Guard for distress and emergencies on the water; alternatively 112<\/strong>. On a supervised beach also alert the lifeguard immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Where to go, by resort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Important:<\/strong> the ULSS 4 tourist clinics run seasonally<\/strong> \u2014 days, hours and the start of the season are set anew each year<\/strong>.       Jesolo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Advanced first-aid point (Punto di Primo Intervento Avanzato)<\/strong> at the Ospedale di Jesolo, Via Levantina 104<\/strong> \u2014 the coast’s main hub, strengthened in 2026 (orthopaedist, paediatrician, radiology). Tourist clinic in season (access via nurse triage).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Bibione<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      First-aid point (Via Maja, Bibione)<\/strong> with medical and nursing care in high season \u2014 in 2026 for the first time with 24-hour nurse triage<\/strong>, integrated with the 118 ambulance service. Plus a tourist clinic in season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Caorle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Year-round first-aid point<\/strong> at the Distretto, Via dei Bragozzi (Caorle)<\/strong> (reinforced in summer, 2026 with 24-hour nurse triage). The tourist nursing clinic (ADI Turistica)<\/strong> is also here (dressing changes, administering therapy, catheters, blood draws \u2014 each on a doctor’s prescription). Non-urgent at night: 116117<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Cavallino-Treporti<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Year-round first-aid point (Via Concordia)<\/strong>, reinforced in summer \u2014 in 2026 for the first time with 24-hour nurse triage and an ambulance. Integrated tourist clinic for low-urgency complaints; non-urgent at night 116117<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Eraclea Mare<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Territorial emergency post (Postazione di Emergenza Territoriale)<\/strong> and a tourist clinic in season (most recently around Via Marinella \/ corner of Via dei Fiori<\/strong>). Check the exact address and hours for 2026 on the ULSS 4 portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Lignano Sabbiadoro (Friuli \u2014 separate system)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      First-aid point + tourist Guardia Medica:<\/strong> Via Tarvisio 5\/B<\/strong>. Season (set anew each year):<\/strong> roughly late May to mid-September; around the clock only in peak season<\/strong> (approx. late June to late August), otherwise usually 8 am\u20138 pm. Emergency:<\/strong> 112; linked to the A&E in Latisana<\/strong>. Services may be chargeable \u2014 ask about fees in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      What does it cost \u2014 and does my insurer pay?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      For people with statutory health insurance from the EU\/EEA and Switzerland<\/strong>: the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)<\/strong> \u2014 usually the back of your insurance card \u2014 covers medically necessary<\/strong> treatment during a temporary stay, in public facilities or those under contract with the Italian health service (SSN), on the same terms as for locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
