The common thread: more boats to the Lido beaches, more frequent services in the evening and additional island connections. For travellers this above all means that beach days and island-hopping are much easier to plan in summer \u2014 provided you know which line offers what. We have gone through the official ACTV summer timetable and summarised the changes that matter most for Venice visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The key changes at a glance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Line 1:<\/strong> more frequent in the evening \u2014 every 12 minutes until 9:00pm from the Lido. Relevant for Grand Canal riders and evening sightseeing.<\/li><li><strong>Line 2:<\/strong> in summer, runs continuously to Lido S.M.E. along the Grand Canal, every 12 minutes \u2014 a fast connection station\/Piazzale Roma \u2194 San Marco \u2194 Lido.<\/li><li><strong>Lines 5.1 \/ 5.2:<\/strong> extra services with a new summer loop via Lido San Nicol\u00f2 \u2014 for beach-goers from Cannaregio and the Fondamente Nove.<\/li><li><strong>Line 7:<\/strong> a daily direct connection San Zaccaria \u2194 Murano, every 30 minutes.<\/li><li><strong>Line 11:<\/strong> the Chioggia\/Pellestrina night connection runs daily instead of only at weekends \u2014 for the southern lagoon and Chioggia\/Sottomarina.<\/li><li><strong>Line 14:<\/strong> extra services in the morning and afternoon, seasonal stops at Lido San Nicol\u00f2 \u2014 for Punta Sabbioni, Cavallino-Treporti and Burano.<\/li><li><strong>Line 17:<\/strong> car ferry Tronchetto \u2194 Lido San Nicol\u00f2: the 00:50 night crossing is reactivated \u2014 for arriving on the Lido by car.<\/li><li><strong>Line 18:<\/strong> daily Murano \u2194 Lido, plus the reactivated connection Lido San Nicol\u00f2 \u2194 Sant&#8217;Erasmo \u2014 for island-hopping in the northern lagoon.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More boats to the Lido beaches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The clearest focus of the summer timetable is the so-called beach services (&#8220;servizi balneari&#8221;). They connect the old town and Cannaregio directly with the Lido in summer and run from 30 May to 13 September 2026:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Lines 5.1 \/ 5.2:<\/strong> additional services with a new summer loop via Lido San Nicol\u00f2. In the morning from Sant&#8217;Alvise, Madonna dell&#8217;Orto and the Fondamente Nove to the beach, back in the evening \u2014 handy for everyone staying in Cannaregio.<\/li><li><strong>Line 8:<\/strong> daily every 30 minutes from San Basilio via the Giudecca and the Giardini to the Lido (Santa Maria Elisabetta and San Nicol\u00f2). Out in the morning 8:16\u201310:46am, back in the evening 5:09\u20137:45pm \u2014 the convenient beach line for Dorsoduro and the Giudecca.<\/li><li><strong>Line 14:<\/strong> additional stops at Lido San Nicol\u00f2 on individual beach services \u2014 details in the separate timetable article.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In short, the northern tip of the Lido, San Nicol\u00f2, becomes a small hub in summer: five lines (5.1\/5.2, 8, 14, 17 and 18) serve it in high season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Faster island connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Line 7<\/strong> runs daily in summer directly from San Zaccaria to Murano and back \u2014 every 30 minutes between 11:08am and 4:08pm. This is the fastest way to Murano without changing at the Fondamente Nove.<\/li><li><strong>Line 18<\/strong> runs daily between Murano and the Lido (Santa Maria Elisabetta and San Nicol\u00f2) and reactivates a direct summer connection Lido San Nicol\u00f2 \u2194 Sant&#8217;Erasmo (Forte Massimiliano) at 9:20am, 12:20pm and 6:20pm. This makes it possible, for the first time in a while, to combine the &#8220;vegetable garden of the lagoon&#8221; conveniently with the Lido again.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More frequent services and longer evenings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the two main Grand Canal lines the service is expanded. Line 1 runs every 12 minutes in the evening until 9:00pm from the Lido. Line 2 runs continuously in summer along the Grand Canal to Lido Santa Maria Elisabetta, also every 12 minutes; the late services via the Giudecca canal (roughly 7:13 to 11:16pm from San Zaccaria), by contrast, terminate at Piazzale Roma. Anyone wanting to get back from St Mark&#8217;s Square in the evening thus has noticeably more connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Southern lagoon and night services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Line 11 (Lido\u2013Pellestrina\u2013Chioggia):<\/strong> the Chioggia \u2194 Pellestrina night connection runs daily in summer instead of only at weekends \u2014 relevant for everyone in the southern lagoon and in Sottomarina.<\/li><li><strong>Line 17 (car ferry Tronchetto \u2194 Lido San Nicol\u00f2):<\/strong> the 00:50 night crossing is active again, replacing the former 00:20 service.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Punta Sabbioni and Burano<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Line 14 from Punta Sabbioni has also been strengthened: additional services in the late morning and afternoon, plus seasonal stops at Lido San Nicol\u00f2. We have prepared the full summer timetable for both directions, the weekday direct services of line 15 and the Burano connection in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.treffpunkt-venedig.de\/en\/vaporetto-venice\/line-14\/\">separate article<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which line for which destination?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>To the Lido beach (from the old town):<\/strong> line 1 or 2 to Lido S.M.E.; from Cannaregio the beach loop of line 5.1\/5.2.<\/li><li><strong>To the Lido beach (from Dorsoduro\/Giudecca):<\/strong> line 8, daily every 30 minutes.<\/li><li><strong>Quickly to Murano:<\/strong> line 7 directly from San Zaccaria (11:08am\u20134:08pm).<\/li><li><strong>Murano, Burano and Torcello in one day:<\/strong> island line 12 from the Fondamente Nove \/ Punta Sabbioni.<\/li><li><strong>To Sant&#8217;Erasmo:<\/strong> line 13 from the Fondamente Nove; in summer also line 18 from Lido San Nicol\u00f2.<\/li><li><strong>From Punta Sabbioni into the city:<\/strong> line 14 (faster on weekdays via the direct line 15).<\/li><li><strong>Late evening back to the Lido:<\/strong> line 1 (every 12 min until 9:00pm) or the night lines.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From when does the summer timetable apply?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The summer timetable on the waterbus network has applied since 30 May 2026. The additional beach services (lines 5.1\/5.2, 8, 18) run from 30 May to 13 September 2026. Lines not mentioned in the official notice continue to run unchanged. The notices and announcements at the landing stages are always decisive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tickets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ACTV fare applies on all waterbus lines: a single ticket costs \u20ac9.50 (75 minutes, transfers included); day and multi-day passes are worthwhile from the second journey onwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Frequently asked questions about the 2026 summer timetable<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Since when does the ACTV summer timetable 2026 apply?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since Saturday, 30 May 2026. Line 1 runs every 12 minutes until 9:00pm from the Lido in the evening, and line 2 continuously along the Grand Canal to the Lido. For the late hours there are additionally the night lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does a journey cost?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An ACTV single ticket costs \u20ac9.50 and is valid for 75 minutes including transfers to other waterbus lines.
