Prices are 2026 guide values (MUVE, Venezia Unica/Ve.La., Chorus, ACTV) and can change. The Venezia Unica city pass is modular — prices depend on the chosen basket. The regular Doge’s Palace visit is usually covered by the St Mark’s Square Museums Ticket or corresponding combined/pass offers; special routes, groups or temporary offers can differ. Check current prices and inclusions officially before booking.

Pass or single tickets? The rule of thumb

  • Only Doge’s Palace + St Mark’s Square museums: the St Mark’s Square Museums Ticket (€35, online from €30) is usually the cheapest choice here.
  • MUVE Museum Pass (€50): usually pays off when several further MUVE venues are planned beyond the Doge’s Palace/St Mark’s complex (such as Ca’ Rezzonico, Ca’ Pesaro, the glass museum, the natural history museum or Fortuny). Recalculate for reduced tickets, children, seniors or just one additional museum. All Museum Pass details.
  • Venezia Unica city pass: pays off above all organisationally if you want to bundle culture, transport and further services in one booking. Whether it beats single tickets plus an ACTV pass depends on your specific selection.
  • Chorus Pass: usually pays off from several visited Chorus churches — single entry per church is in the low single-digit euro range.

The passes in detail

St Mark’s Square Museums Ticket (€35)

The standard ticket for the Doge’s Palace combined with the Museo Correr, the National Archaeological Museum and the monumental rooms of the Biblioteca Marciana — all directly on St Mark’s Square. €35 regular; currently €30 when booked online at least 30 days before your visit (reduced cheaper). If this block is all you want to see, it is usually the cheapest route. → View the reserved Doge’s Palace ticket.

MUVE Museum Pass (€50 / €25 reduced)

The cumulative pass of the municipal museums (MUVE): valid for the Doge’s Palace plus 12 further municipal museums (13 venues in total), one entry each. It includes the museums on St Mark’s Square (Correr/Archaeology/Marciana) as well as further MUVE venues such as Ca’ Rezzonico, Palazzo Mocenigo, Casa Goldoni, Ca’ Pesaro, the Museo del Vetro on Murano, the Museo del Merletto on Burano, the Museo di Storia Naturale, Palazzo Fortuny, the Museo di Torcello and MUVEC. The best choice for art and museum travellers covering several venues. → Everything about the Museum Pass: price, included museums and the break-even calculation. → View the Museum Pass online.

Venezia Unica city pass (modular)

Venezia Unica is not a single fixed pass but the city’s official modular city-pass and booking system. Depending on your selection you can combine museums, churches and monuments and public transport (ACTV vaporetto), airport transfer, Wi-Fi or parking. Prices and contents depend on the specific basket; young travellers (6–29) and seniors (65+) pay less depending on the package. Its strength: everything in one official booking, vaporetto included. Check current packages and prices directly on veneziaunica.it. → View the city pass with transport.

Chorus Pass (about €10–30)

A tip for architecture and art lovers: the churches of the Chorus circuit (including the Frari with Titian’s Assunta, San Polo, Redentore) on one pass. The official price range is roughly €10 to €30 depending on category (full price about €15–16 depending on booking route, reduced lower, family pass up to about €30), valid one year from first visit. Usually pays off from several visited churches and leads to often quieter masterpieces away from the St Mark’s stream. Check current prices and the church list on chorusvenezia.org.

ACTV vaporetto passes (€25–65)

Not a culture pass but pure mobility: guide values 24 hours €25, 48 hours €35, 72 hours €45, 7 days €65 (single ride approx. €9.50). Not automatically included are Alilaguna and certain special lines — check exclusions before buying. For travellers aged 6 to 29 the Rolling Venice Card with its reduced 72-hour ACTV youth ticket can be cheaper. Which option pays off for your days is shown by the vaporetto ticket calculator.

Compare pass tickets from further providers

Individual passes and combined tickets are also available from other providers. Third-party sellers can be practical when they offer flexible cancellation, mobile tickets or combined tours. Always compare prices, cancellation terms, inclusions and the official alternatives:

Do not confuse: the access fee is not a pass

The most common mix-up: the Contributo di Accesso (access fee for certain day visitors, €5 in advance / €10 at short notice) is not a pass and is included in none of the passes above. It applies only on certain days to day visitors, is purely an entry levy for the historic city and has nothing to do with museums or the vaporetto. All dates and booking: → Venice access fee 2026 — calendar and booking. Also separate: St Mark’s Basilica, the Pala d’Oro, the cathedral museum/loggia and the campanile have their own ticket and reservation systems and are not automatically included in the city or museum passes mentioned here — check current basilica tickets separately.

Frequently asked questions about Venice passes

Which pass pays off for one day focused on St Mark’s Square?

The St Mark’s Square Museums Ticket (€35, online from €30 when booked at least 30 days ahead). It covers the Doge’s Palace, the Museo Correr, the Archaeological Museum and the Marciana rooms. A Museum Pass does not usually pay off yet for a pure St Mark’s day.

Is the MUVE Museum Pass (€50) worth it?

Usually yes, as soon as you visit several further MUVE venues beyond the Doge’s Palace/St Mark’s complex — such as Ca’ Rezzonico, Ca’ Pesaro or the glass museum on Murano. The pass covers 13 venues (Doge’s Palace + 12 more). For reduced tickets, children or only one additional museum, do your own calculation. All Museum Pass details.

What is the difference between the Museum Pass and the Venezia Unica city pass?

The MUVE Museum Pass is a pure museum pass for the 13 municipal museums (Doge’s Palace + 12 more). The Venezia Unica city pass is modular: depending on your selection it combines museums, churches and monuments with public transport (vaporetto), airport transfer and more in one booking — price and content depend on the chosen basket.

Is St Mark’s Basilica included in any pass?

St Mark’s Basilica and its additional areas (Pala d’Oro, cathedral museum/loggia, campanile) have their own ticket and reservation systems and are not automatically included in the city or museum passes. Check current basilica tickets separately.

Do I also need the access fee (Contributo di Accesso)?

Possibly yes — it is completely separate from the passes. On certain days in 2026, day visitors pay €5 (in advance) or €10 (at short notice), regardless of whether you hold a museum or vaporetto pass. Overnight guests in the municipality of Venice do not pay the fee but must prove their exemption status (usually a QR code or accommodation confirmation). Details: Venice access fee 2026.

Is the vaporetto included in any culture pass?

Only the Venezia Unica city pass allows public transport to be added. The Museum Pass and the St Mark’s Square ticket include no rides. If you travel separately, take an ACTV day or multi-day pass (guide values €25–65). Which option pays off is shown by the vaporetto ticket calculator.

Where is the best place to buy the passes — and should I book ahead?

Officially from MUVE (visitmuve.it), Venezia Unica (veneziaunica.it) and Chorus (chorusvenezia.org); combined tickets are also available from third parties such as GetYourGuide. Booking ahead can pay off: for the St Mark’s Square ticket the online price is cheaper with at least 30 days’ notice. Whether a product includes a fixed time slot or preferred entry is product-specific and should be checked in the conditions.

Is the Chorus Pass worth it?

For church and art lovers usually yes: the churches of the Chorus circuit on one pass (about €10–30 depending on category), valid one year — cheaper than single entries from several visited churches. It also leads to masterpieces (Titian, Tintoretto) away from the crowded main axes. Check current prices and the church list on chorusvenezia.org.
