Location: the quiet part of Lido di Jesolo

The Almar lies in the eastern section of Lido di Jesolo, on Via Dante Alighieri — set apart from the lively centre around Piazza Mazzini, right by the pine forest that lines the Adriatic coast here. This location is deliberate: quieter than the hotel strips further west, less bustle, more room on the beach. If you want clubs or the classic promenade bustle in the evening, this is not the right place — if you want to relax, it very much is.

From the hotel it is about 15 minutes on foot to the centre of Lido di Jesolo, or 5 minutes in the opposite direction to the quiet Pineta section with small boutiques and fish restaurants. By car you reach Piazzale Roma in Venice in about 45 minutes — more convenient and more atmospheric is the direct boat connection Punta Sabbioni → Venice (vaporetto line 14, about 35 minutes). Travel options Jesolo → Venice in detail.

Architecture and concept

The resort was newly built in 2014 and follows a modern Italian design language — lots of glass, light wood, warm natural tones, clean lines. That makes the Almar one of the youngest 5-star complexes on the upper Adriatic and sets it clearly apart from the classic hotels further west, some of which date from the 1960s. Every room has its own terrace or balcony with a sea or garden view.

Rooms and suites

In total 184 rooms and suites are spread over seven categories — from the Superior category for classic stays to the Loft Suite Aria or Aqua for premium occasions:

  • Superior — entry category, garden or side view
  • Deluxe — more spacious, sea or pool view
  • Family Deluxe — especially for families with children
  • Junior Suite — larger living area, separate bedroom
  • Prestige Suite — several rooms, upscale furnishings
  • Sundeck Suite — roof terrace with a private sun lounge
  • Loft Suite Aria & Aqua — top category, maximum space and privacy

Almablu Wellness & Spa — the heart of the hotel

What sets the Almar clearly apart from other Jesolo hotels is the 2,000 m² spa complex — one of the largest on the upper Adriatic. Almablu is award-winning (Luxury Lifestyle Awards) and a wellness destination in its own right, also visited by day guests. The facilities at a glance:

  • Indoor pool with a hydromassage area and sea view
  • 3 saunas — Finnish, bio, Mediterranean
  • 3 steam baths with different aromas
  • Kneipp circuit for the circulation
  • Ice room and emotional showers (experience showers)
  • Thalasso area with seawater treatments
  • Treatment rooms for massages, facial and body treatments
  • Generous relax area with loungers and a tea station

Mediterra restaurant and bars

The hotel’s own Mediterra restaurant focuses on Mediterranean and Venetian-Italian cuisine — fresh Adriatic fish, regional vegetables, light pasta variations and creative salads. At lunchtime rather uncomplicated (light lunches, bowls, finger food at the pool), in the evening with a more sophisticated à la carte and menu concept. In addition there are several bars and aperitivo zones across the resort — pool bar, lobby bar with a wine-cellar concept, beach bar in summer.

Beach and pool

The private beach lies immediately in front of the hotel — its own beach section, undisturbed, with reserved sunbeds and parasols for hotel guests (included in the room rate). The sand is fine, the water shelves gently, which makes the beach tolerable even for families with smaller children. Within the resort, the 70-metre outdoor pool is the visual centrepiece — divided into three temperature zones, partly covered, and therefore usable in the transitional months up to November.

Who the Almar suits best

Decision helper: does the Almar suit your travel style?
Traveller typeFit
Couples on a wellness break★★★★★ — Almablu spa, 70 m pool, quiet location, sundeck suites with a private roof terrace
Honeymoons / romantic holidays★★★★★ — Prestige or loft suites, Mediterra restaurant, beach walks along the Pineta
Families with smaller children★★★★☆ — Family Deluxe rooms, shallow beach, children’s pool area — but not a classic animation hotel
Premium enjoyers / luxury travellers★★★★★ — 5-star standard in the newest build, Italian design, quieter than town hotels
Venice commuters (day trips)★★★★☆ — journey to Venice 45–70 min, very doable as a day trip by boat or car
Backpackers / budget travellers★☆☆☆☆ — clearly in the premium price segment, not a fit
Party holidaymakers / singles on a club tour★☆☆☆☆ — wrong address, the quiet Pineta end of Jesolo, not the party centre
Tour groups / sports groups★★★☆☆ — possible, but better for individual couples and families

Board basis — which option to choose?

The Almar is offered with different board levels — depending on the provider and the season:

  • Breakfast only (BB) — recommended for day trips to Venice or Cavallino, with flexible dinners out (for example in the small fish restaurants in the Pineta section)
  • Half board (HB) — breakfast + dinner, ideal if you are out during the day and want to eat comfortably at the Mediterra in the evening
  • Full board (FB) — breakfast + lunch + dinner, sensible for pure wellness stays without excursions

Frequently asked questions about the Almar Jesolo

How far is the Almar Jesolo from Venice?

By car about 45 minutes to Piazzale Roma, then on by vaporetto. More convenient and more atmospheric is the boat connection Punta Sabbioni → Venice on vaporetto line 14 (about 35 minutes on board; Punta Sabbioni is 15 minutes from the hotel). In total, allow about 70 minutes from the hotel to St Mark’s Square. → Day trip Jesolo → Venice

Can I book the Almar Jesolo as a package holiday with a flight?

Not through a combined package — we list the Almar as a hotel-only booking. If you still want everything from one source, we are happy to combine flight, transfer and hotel manually via our travel advice — free and non-binding. Alternatively, book your flight separately with the usual providers and the hotel via Booking.com.

Is the Almar an adults-only hotel?

No, families with children are welcome. There is a dedicated Family Deluxe room category and a children’s pool area. The Almablu spa, however, is open from the age of 14.

What is the beach like at the Almar?

The hotel’s private beach is right in front of the resort. Guests have reserved sunbeds and parasols included (one row per room). The sand is fine and the water shelves gently — also suitable for smaller children. The beach is much less crowded than the town-centre beaches near Piazza Mazzini.

When is the Almar especially worthwhile?

In the shoulder seasons (May/June and September/October) for a wellness focus with the best prices and a quiet atmosphere. In high season (July/August) for a family beach holiday, but then at premium prices. The spa is open all year round — also a worthwhile destination for spa weekends in winter.

Are pets allowed?

The Almar accepts smaller dogs on advance notice for a fee. We recommend clarifying the exact conditions in advance via our travel advice — the rules can change with the season.

Which board basis is recommended?

Half board (HB) is the standard middle way — breakfast and dinner in the hotel, lunch flexibly at the pool, on the beach or out and about. If you plan a day trip to Venice, half board works best. Pure wellness stays without excursions benefit from full board; explorers with daily tours in the region manage with breakfast (BB) and dinner elsewhere.
