Caorle Events 2026 — ScoglieraViva, La Luna nel Pozzo, Madonna Procession and Film Festival
In a nutshell: Caorle has one of the densest events seasons on the upper Adriatic in 2026 — many dates are flagged as “Eventi TOP” in the official Comune calendar. The key dates for travellers: La Luna nel Pozzo (international street-theatre festival, 2–6 September), the Madonna dell’Angelo procession with its boat parade (second Sunday in September), the Caorle Independent Film Festival in its 9th edition (15–19 September), plus the annual highlights of the fish festival, Sea Festival and the illumination of the bell tower. The ScoglieraViva sculpture symposium takes place only every two years (most recently 2025) — but the sculptures on the breakwater can be seen all year round. For concerts, see the separate concerts page.
The season’s top events
ScoglieraViva — the sculpture symposium on the breakwater (every two years)
One of Italy’s most unusual art events: for around a week, international sculptors work directly on the stone breakwater (scogliera) separating Caorle’s old town from the sea, carving sculptures out of the rock blocks. The works stay permanently — over the years the breakwater has become an open-air gallery. The live symposium, however, takes place only every two years: the last edition ran in June 2025, the next is expected in 2027. For 2026 this means: no live symposium, but the existing sculptures are freely accessible at any time and well worth a stroll.
La Luna nel Pozzo — international street theatre
One of the best street-theatre festivals in northern Italy, organised by the cultural association Carichi Sospesi. International performers take over the lanes of the old town, the beach and the squares — jugglers, acrobats, comedians, mimes, fire artists. In 2026 from 2 to 6 September, over several evenings, completely free of charge. Family-friendly — for children especially, one of the highlights of the season.
Madonna dell’Angelo procession
A religious folk tradition since the 18th century: on the second Sunday in September, the statue of the Madonna is carried from the pilgrimage church on the rocky spur to the parish church in the old town — by boat parade across the Adriatic. Hundreds of decorated fishing boats accompany the statue, followed by a procession through the old town with brass bands and traditional costumes. One of the most photogenic summer events on the upper Adriatic.
Caorle Independent Film Festival
In its 9th edition in 2026, 15–19 September, at the Centro Culturale “Andrea Bafile”. An international competition for independent films — features, shorts and documentaries, selected by an expert jury and an audience jury. Known for its unconventional selection and intimate atmosphere — filmmakers attend in person, with Q&A sessions after the screenings.
