In a nutshell: With the Cavallino Bianco Caorle — Venezia, a new five-star family-luxury resort opened on the Adriatic in May 2026, one we can particularly recommend to families from our travel-agency practice. It is the first Adriatic offshoot of the well-known Cavallino Bianco group, which for over two decades — with its original house in Ortisei in Val Gardena (South Tyrol) — has set the Central-European benchmark for family-luxury hotels. Key figures: 101 family suites between 46 and 118 m², 5 hectares of private beach, a 4,000 m² wellness area with an adults-only rooftop pool, open exclusively to families. Season: Easter to mid-January.
Why we recommend the resort
From a travel-agency point of view, the opening is an important addition to our Adriatic programme. The Cavallino Bianco in Ortisei (Val Gardena) has for years been one of the premium hotels most frequently booked by families in the Dolomites — many of our regular customers know the house from winter and summer stays. With the new beach offshoot in Caorle, the same concept (a consistent family focus, large suites, professional childcare, wellness with an adults-only area) comes to the Adriatic — geographically attractive because it is much faster to reach by car or train from Central Europe than southern Adriatic resorts in Italy.

Who the resort suits — a decision guide
✓ Ideal for you if … you travel with children or grandchildren and prioritise comfort; you know the sister house in Ortisei and like the concept; you want an all-inclusive package holiday; you want to use Caorle specifically as a beach base, with a Venice day trip as a bonus; you are looking for a five-star resort on the Adriatic but don’t want the journey to southern Italy.
✗ Probably not for you if … you travel as a couple without children — the family focus is consistent; you are looking for an authentic Italy experience rather than an all-inclusive resort; you travel on a budget — family luxury is a premium price segment; you want to commute to Venice often — Caorle is 75 to 90 minutes away by bus.
Getting there from Central Europe
- By car: from Munich, Vienna or Salzburg via the A22 / Brenner motorway to Venice, then on towards Caorle, a total journey of 6 to 8 hours depending on the starting point. Hotel garage and valet parking available.
- By plane: to Marco Polo (VCE), a 90-minute private transfer or hire car to Caorle. We can book this as a complete package on request.
- By train: ÖBB Nightjet Munich/Vienna → Mestre, then a transfer bus or hire car to Caorle.
Caorle — the location
Caorle lies about 65 kilometres east of Venice on the northern Adriatic coast. The town was historically known as a family-friendly mid-range destination and in recent years has seen a clear upgrade towards the premium segment through investments such as the Cavallino Bianco. The old town, with its characteristic pink campanile, the pilgrimage church of Madonna dell’Angelo and the alleys of fishermen’s houses, offers authentic Adriatic flair — the resort sits right on the beach outside the old-town bustle, but is easily reachable on foot or by hotel shuttle.
Of interest to families: a day trip to Venice is easily doable from Caorle with the ATVO direct bus to Piazzale Roma (75 to 90 min.). If you combine the Cavallino Bianco stay with one or two days in Venice, budget for the €5 access fee per person aged 14 and over on valid days.
