Evening and Night Markets Jesolo Summer 2026 — the Complete Calendar

von mike Unkategorisiert

Summer evenings on the Adriatic in Jesolo have their own rhythm. As soon as the sun sinks behind the pine woods towards the lagoon, the stalls of the evening and night markets open on various squares along the 15-kilometre beach zone. For summer 2026, 82 individual dates are planned between 19 April and 9 September, spread across 9 thematically distinct market brands — from designer crafts and a farmers’ market to the honey speciality market of local beekeepers.

This article is the complete calendar with a filter by weekday, market brand and square — plus an explanation of what really lies behind the melodious Italian names and how the markets concretely differ for visitors.

  • 82 individual dates
  • 9 market brands
  • 10 squares in the beach zone
  • 5 months (April–September)

The 9 market brands at a glance

Over recent years Jesolo has divided its evening markets into thematic brands. This makes the calendar confusing at first glance, but is an advantage for travellers: if you know which market offers what, you can plan your evenings around your interests.

  • Passeggiando sotto le stelle — “Strolling under the stars”, the weekly classic on Tuesdays on Piazza Manzoni, continuously from 9 June to 8 September. The largest and best-known evening market, with a mixed range of clothing, accessories, leather goods, toys and souvenirs.
  • Mercanti d’autore — a craft and designer market. Handmade ceramics, jewellery, textile design, leatherwork — a notch above the classic browsing level. Held in rotation at several squares.
  • Bontà & benessere — “Delight & well-being”: food specialities, regional spreads, honey, natural cosmetics, wellness products. The most frequent brand, with over 20 dates across the summer.
  • Al chiar di luna — “In the moonlight”: an evening general market with a mixed range, often on the smaller squares (Aurora, Nember, Casabianca). A similar concept to Passeggiando, but at changing locations.
  • Angolo dell’arte — “The corner of art”: painters, pictures, small sculptures, prints and watercolours. The market for lovers who seek handmade art in the evening rather than souvenir goods.
  • Girajesolo — “Discover Jesolo”: a mixed promenade market that rotates around different squares over the season. More oriented towards families and holidaymakers, with a broad range.
  • Volando con le api — “Flying with the bees”: a honey market of local and Venetian beekeepers, with tastings, propolis, wax and bee products. Once in early summer on Piazza Milano.
  • Via dei Mille in festa — a street festival on Via dei Mille: music, stalls, food, on three Thursdays in high summer (25 June, 23 July, 13 August). More of an event than a pure market.
  • Campagna amica — a Coldiretti farmers’ market with producers from the Venetian hinterland. Fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese, wine, olive oil straight from the farm. One date in high summer on Piazza Milano.

Recurring highlights you should know

  • Tuesday = Passeggiando sotto le stelle on Piazza Manzoni. The most reliable date in the summer calendar: every Tuesday from 9 June to 8 September 2026. If you spend a Tuesday evening in Jesolo, plan in Piazza Manzoni. The central square at the eastern end of the main promenade Via Bafile fills with stalls from about 6:30pm, and the atmosphere runs until midnight.
  • Via dei Mille in festa — three Thursdays in high summer. Via dei Mille turns into a festival mile on three Thursdays (25 June, 23 July, 13 August) with music, open-air dining and market bustle. If you are in Jesolo in high summer and catch one of these dates, plan your evening there.
  • Piazza Casabianca is the most-used market square. The smaller Piazza Casabianca in the centre of Jesolo Lido has 15 market dates over the season — almost every week, with a changing brand. If you stay longer, you’ll automatically pass by several times.

Which market suits which day of your trip?

  • If you are looking for handmade souvenirs: go to Mercanti d’autore or Angolo dell’arte. Here you’ll find designer pieces, ceramics, watercolours — not a typical souvenir range.
  • If you want culinary specialities: choose Bontà & benessere or the Campagna amica farmers’ market on 22 July. Honey, cheese, spreads, regional olive oil.
  • If you are travelling with children: Passeggiando sotto le stelle or Girajesolo. A large, mixed range, many stalls with toys, sweets and entertainment.
  • If you are planning a special evening: time it for Via dei Mille in festa. Live music, open-air dining, the longest programme. Three Thursdays in summer.

Touristy or local — who you’ll meet where

The market brands differ not only in their range but also in their public. A rough guide — helpful if you want to know what to expect.

  • Very touristy: Passeggiando sotto le stelle on Piazza Manzoni and Via dei Mille in festa. In July and August the crowd here is mainly German-speaking. The stalls are geared towards travellers, many vendors speak German. A predictable range, high visitor numbers.
  • More frequented by locals: the Campagna amica farmers’ market and the Volando con le api honey market on Piazza Milano. Here Jesolo residents and weekend Italians from Treviso and Padua stock up. If you can manage some Italian with the vendors, you’ll get to know producers and stories.
  • Mixed — international guests and locals: Mercanti d’autore and Angolo dell’arte. Designers and artists attract both souvenir-minded travellers and Venetian city dwellers looking for special pieces. Tendency: more tourists between 7 and 9pm, more locals later.
  • Family markets: Girajesolo and the smaller Al chiar di luna on Piazza Aurora or Nember. Families are at home here — stalls with toys, sweets, sometimes small entertainment activities. A relaxed atmosphere, less tourist pressure than on Piazza Manzoni.

Practical notes for all the markets

  • Start and end: most stalls open between 6:00 and 7:00pm; the larger markets (Passeggiando, Via dei Mille) only pack up around midnight. For a relaxed visit, come between 7:30 and 9:30pm — the atmosphere is best then, without the peak crush.
  • Getting there: within Jesolo Lido most squares are reachable on foot or by city bus (line 5 along Via Bafile). Piazza Manzoni and Piazza Casabianca are the two central axes — from either you are never more than a 10-minute walk from another market square. Parking gets scarce in high season from 6pm, so it’s best to park at your hotel or on the promenade and walk.
  • Payment: most stalls take cash, many also cards. At food and farmers’ stalls cash is still standard — a €20 note should be enough for a relaxed evening’s shopping.
  • In bad weather: in heavier rain, individual markets are postponed or cancelled altogether. The official programme is updated at short notice — if unsure, check on the market day itself. In light drizzle the markets are usually set up anyway, and many stalls have their own awnings or pavilions. For weather-independent planning, head for the covered areas on Piazza Manzoni or Via dei Mille.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the most important market in Jesolo?

The weekly Passeggiando sotto le stelle on Tuesday evening on Piazza Manzoni is the central date of the season. From 9 June to 8 September 2026 it takes place every week — 14 consecutive Tuesdays. This market is the largest, the busiest and the one with the broadest range: clothing, leather goods, accessories, toys, souvenirs, small food stalls. The central square at the eastern end of Via Bafile fills with stalls from 6:30pm; the peak time is 8:00 to 10:30pm, with pack-up until midnight. If you visit only a single market in Jesolo, this is the one — with the clear caveat that it is also the most touristy, with a high density of German-speaking visitors in high summer.

What do the Italian market names mean literally?

The melodious Italian names are deliberately chosen brand concepts, each with its own thematic focus. Passeggiando sotto le stelle literally means “strolling under the stars” — the general promenade market. Mercanti d’autore means “designer merchants”, i.e. craftspeople with their own label. Bontà & benessere translates as “delight and well-being” — food and natural cosmetics. Al chiar di luna is “in the moonlight”, Angolo dell’arte the “corner of art”, Volando con le api “flying with the bees” for the honey market, Campagna amica means “friendly countryside” and is the official Coldiretti farmers’ market association. Girajesolo means “go around Jesolo”, or more freely “discover Jesolo”.

Are there daytime weekly markets in Jesolo too?

Yes. The regular daytime Mercato Settimanale is separate from the evening-market programme and runs all year round — every Wednesday morning on Piazza Brescia in Jesolo Paese (the historic centre) and on Thursdays in Jesolo Lido along Via Bafile. The range is classic: clothing, shoes, household goods, fabrics, fruit and vegetables. Opening hours roughly 8am to 1pm. If you are in Jesolo in summer and want to experience both: the daytime market in the morning for everyday needs, the evening market for atmosphere and special products.

When is the best time to come?

The optimal time depends on the type of market and traveller. For the large markets (Passeggiando, Via dei Mille), 7:30 to 9:30pm is ideal — all stalls are set up, the atmosphere is there, but the peak rush only begins after 9:30pm. If you are with small children, plan for 6:30 to 8:00pm — fewer crowds, good light, many stalls already open. In high summer the large squares get very busy between 10 and 11pm, especially in July and August after the beach closes. For quieter markets like Bontà & benessere or Angolo dell’arte, 7 to 9pm is relaxed — these smaller markets don’t get overrun. Tip: at the weekend come an hour earlier; on weekdays the standard recommendation applies.

Which market is worth it in bad weather?

In light rain almost all markets are set up anyway — the stalls have their own awnings, pavilions or canopies. In damp weather the markets on Via dei Mille are recommended: there are covered arcades along the street under which you can move from stall to stall dry-footed even in showers. Piazza Manzoni also has colonnades in its eastern part. In a heavy thunderstorm, markets are postponed or cancelled at short notice — but this rarely happens, since set-up takes place in the late afternoon and organisers assess the weather at short notice. If you want to firmly plan a market evening despite the rain risk, keep one of the season’s indoor events as a plan B, such as the events at the Palazzo del Turismo.

Which market is the most relaxed and which the most crowded?

The most relaxed are the smaller markets on the side squares: Al chiar di luna on Piazza Aurora or Piazza Nember, Angolo dell’arte on Piazza Torino. Few crowds, more time at the stall, often personal conversations with the stallholders. The Bontà & benessere dates on Piazza Casabianca also tend to be quiet. The most crowded is Passeggiando sotto le stelle on Piazza Manzoni on Tuesdays in July and August — between 9 and 10:30pm the square is packed and moving forward becomes difficult. Via dei Mille in festa on the three Thursdays in high summer is also busy, though the flow of visitors spreads better along the street. Tip for more relaxed high-summer evenings: visit markets before 8pm or after 10:30pm, or choose weekend dates outside the tourist peak window.

Where do locals eat around the market?

Right on the large market squares you’ll find mainly tourist dining. For authentic Adriatic cuisine, these addresses within walking distance are worthwhile: Trattoria al Pescatore on Via Olanda near Piazza Manzoni — a fish restaurant frequented by many locals, with fresh lagoon produce. Osteria al Cason on Via Trento Trieste east of Piazza Mazzini — Venetian cicchetti and house wine, a smaller menu but authentic. Pizzeria Storica La Capannina near Piazza Casabianca — wood-oven pizza in the classic style, no tourist menu. For a glass of wine after the market, the bars on Via Bafile between Piazza Mazzini and Piazza Manzoni are recommended — there the ratio of locals to tourists is the most balanced. Aperitivo time is 6:00 to 7:30pm, perfect for getting in the mood before the market.

Is a day trip just for an evening market worth it from Venice?

From the Lido di Venezia or Punta Sabbioni by vaporetto and bus it’s realistic — about 45 minutes’ travel, though watch the last return. From the centre of Venice by public transport it’s about 90 minutes each way, which is only really worthwhile for the biggest dates: Passeggiando sotto le stelle on Tuesday and Via dei Mille in festa on the three Thursdays. The far more relaxed option: plan a whole day, a day trip to Jesolo with the beach in the morning, the market in the evening, returning by fast boat (Il Doge di Venezia, April to October) around 10:30pm. Anyone staying in Jesolo, Cavallino or Punta Sabbioni has the easier access anyway and can move without time pressure.

Are the brand names binding?

Yes, the brands are officially assigned — each market under one of the nine brands follows a defined concept and curated range requirements. At Mercanti d’autore the stallholders are actually checked for handmade designer goods, at Bontà & benessere for a food and wellness focus. Nonetheless there are overlaps in practice: a Bontà & benessere market rarely has only delicacy stalls, an Angolo dell’arte not only art. On average the range corresponds to about 70 to 80 per cent of the brand definition, the rest is mixed. If you are looking for a specific product (honey, regional cheese, local art), stick to the defined brands — the hit rate is much higher than at the generic markets.

What can I do if I can’t find a suitable date in my travel period?

First option: visit the daytime market on Wednesday morning in Jesolo Paese or on Thursday in Jesolo Lido — it runs all year and offers a different, more everyday atmosphere than the evening markets. Second option: plan a day trip to neighbouring towns with similar evening-market programmes — Bibione, Caorle and Cavallino-Treporti each have their own summer programmes. Third option: use the region’s day-trip options, especially Venice with its year-round Rialto and Sant’Erasmo markets.
