In brief: Caorle has the typical upper-Adriatic climate — warm, sunny summers with water temperatures of 23–26 °C in July/August, mild but damp winters. The main season runs from mid-May to mid-September. The most important weather factor for Caorle is wind — bora storms in spring and autumn that make the beaches unusable and cancel the fast boats to Venice. Caorle’s historic old town is worth seeing even in the rain: the well-kept centro storico with its characteristic campanile is Caorle’s main bad-weather asset compared with purely beach-oriented Adriatic resorts.

Wind and storm warnings
The bora
The bora is a cold, dry katabatic wind from the north-east that occurs mainly in spring and autumn. In a stronger bora (over 40 km/h): fold away beach umbrellas, fast boats to Venice are cancelled, open-air events move to sheltered venues. The live block above shows the current wind speed — from 40 km/h the card switches to “bora storm”. The upside of a bora: exceptionally clear views afterwards — the bell tower and the Madonna dell’Angelo church are more photogenic than ever.
Summer thunderstorms
Adriatic summer storms often pass through in the late afternoon, last 30–60 minutes and leave clear air behind. ARPAV warnings come 4–8 hours ahead. When a storm threatens: head into the old town, into cafés or the parish church.
