Cavallino-Treporti Events 2026 — Palio Remiero, Motoraduno, Sagre and the Summer Programme
In a nutshell: Cavallino-Treporti offers a wide-ranging events programme in 2026, spread across all four districts. The top event of the season is the 24th Palio Remiero on 27 June — a rowing-boat regatta with a street-food festival and music. Add the XXXIII° Motoraduno Lagunare (33rd motorcycle rally, 30–31 May), the Sunset Run on 27 June, the Estate letteraria literary series with Marilù Oliva (9 June) and Paolo Roversi (17 July), and the traditional sagre — the Sagra di Ca’Vio, the Sagra Madonna del Carmine in Saccagnana and the Sagra di Santa Filomena in Treporti. For concerts, see the separate concerts page.
Top event 2026 — the 24th Palio Remiero
On Saturday, 27 June 2026 from 4 pm, Piazza S.M. Elisabetta in Cavallino hosts the 24th edition of the Palio Remiero — the peninsula’s most important folk festival, designated an “Evento Top” by the Comune. The programme: a rowing competition in traditional boats between the teams of the four districts, plus a street-food festival with local specialities (fish, vongole, sarde in saor), live music and a closing fireworks display.
The regatta commemorates the old tradition of the vegetable farmers of Sant’Erasmo, Vignole and Cavallino, who once rowed to Venice’s Rialto market every morning. In its modern competitive form the Palio has been held since the early 2000s and celebrates the independent identity of the peninsula, which separated from Venice in 1999. The participating boats are the typical Venetian sandolo and caorline from the local boatyards.

How Cavallino-Treporti events differ from Venice
Cavallino-Treporti maintains a very local, village-style festival culture — the sagre are not tourist events but genuine folk festivals with a parish-community character. Street food, live music in the beer tent, processions with statues of the Madonna. If you are after an authentic Italian experience, there is more substance here than in Jesolo (tourist-driven) or Bibione (resort-oriented).
Plus: thanks to the vaporetto link, Cavallino-Treporti events combine easily with Venice events on the same day — breakfast in Cavallino, a morning in Venice (St Mark’s Square), back by midday, sagra afternoon in Ca’Vio.
