Grado Airshow 2026 — Frecce Tricolori over the Island of the Sun: Review & Next Dates
Once a year the sky above Grado becomes a stage: during the Grado Airshow, the beach of the “Island of the Sun” turns into a vast open-air auditorium. The 2026 edition took place on Sunday, 7 June 2026 from 4pm to 6pm above the litorale — with the Frecce Tricolori as the undisputed highlight, painting the sky green, white and red. Admission was free, and the show could be watched from the entire coastline and the Lungomare Nazario Sauro.
The 2026 programme
The show was organised by the Municipality of Grado together with GIT spa, the Aero Club of Italy and the Italian Air Force. Alongside the national aerobatic team, other teams and pilots flew high-precision manoeuvres over the sea:
- Flying Donkeys — microlight pair
- ELI E.I. — formation flying
- Pitts Special — biplane aerobatics
- CAP 231 — freestyle aerobatics with an Italian champion
- PC-9 of the Slovenian Air Force
- Frecce Tricolori — the national aerobatic team of the Aeronautica Militare as the finale
The next Frecce Tricolori dates on the Adriatic
If you missed the show, 2026 still offers several chances in the region — two of them practically on Grado’s doorstep:

|---|---|---|
| 21 June 2026 | Bellaria Igea Marina Air Show (Emilia-Romagna) | approx. 290 km |

| 5 September 2026 | Desenzano del Garda Air Show (Lake Garda) | approx. 290 km |
| 12 September 2026 | Jesolo Airshow (Veneto) | approx. 100 km |

Good to know for the next edition
The Grado Airshow traditionally takes place on a Sunday in early summer, with a dress rehearsal on the Saturday before. Temporary restrictions apply on both days: in front of the main beach and the promenade, swimming, boating, anchoring, diving and fishing are prohibited during flight times, and parking and traffic bans apply around Via Marconi, Via Fermi and the Parco delle Rose. Arrive early, come by bike or on foot and follow the temporary signage — the best views are from the main beach and the Lungomare Nazario Sauro, and admission is free.
