Grado has two markets worth visiting: the Wednesday weekly market at Piazza Carpaccio in the old town and the daily fish market (Mercato Ittico) at the harbor—the latter is more authentic and smaller than the vast Chioggia market, but equally lively.

Friulian Specialties and Lagoon Fish
At the Wednesday market you will find the classic Friulian range: speck and Prosciutto San Daniele (produced 10 km away), Montasio cheese from the Friulian Alps, honey from lagoon beekeepers, and Friuli olive oil DOP. At the fish market at the harbor, local fishermen sell their catch from 7 AM—branzino, orata, sardines, squid, and the lagoon eels typical of Grado. Retail sales until approximately 12 PM.
