Jesolo Air Show 2026: Dates, Programme, Frecce Tricolori & Best Viewing Spots
In brief: The Jesolo Air Show 2026 took place on Friday, 11 September (dress rehearsal) and Saturday, 12 September 2026 (official show). The displays ran on both days from about 2:45 pm to 6:40 pm, with the Frecce Tricolori as the highlight. New in 2026: the aerobatic team Fursan Al Emarat from the United Arab Emirates returned after 2012, joined by the inclusive WeFly! Team, the aerobatic team Yakitalia, historic biplanes and numerous helicopters. Admission was free, the show centre was the beach at Piazza Brescia, and the show was visible along the whole coast between Piazza Marina and Piazza Manzoni. During the display times a swimming ban applied on the affected beach section. This page is a record of the 2026 edition and a guide for future ones β check the official site for the next dates. The 2026 dates at a glance
| When | What | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Friday, 11 September 2026 | Dress rehearsal β often already a large part of the programme to see | approx. 2:45β6:40 pm |
| Saturday, 12 September 2026 | Official show with the full programme | approx. 2:45β6:40 pm |
| TV broadcast (Saturday only) | Live on Rai 1 | approx. 4:00β6:30 pm |
| Swimming ban (both days) | on the affected beach section, for safety reasons | 2:30β6:30 pm |
If you had only one day, Saturday was the one to pick: the complete programme was announced and the show ran live on Italian television in parallel. The Friday dress rehearsal, however, draws a much smaller audience and is often just as worth seeing β an insider tip for anyone who wants to avoid the crowds of the main show day.
The 2026 programme: who flew
The Jesolo Air Show is one of the biggest air shows in Italy. In 2026 the programme combined an unusually international mix of aerobatic teams, military aircraft, historic biplanes and rescue helicopters.
Frecce Tricolori β the highlight
The Frecce Tricolori (officially Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale, PAN) are the aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force and, with ten aircraft, the largest aerobatic team in the world. Traditionally they form the finale of the Jesolo Air Show β with the characteristic closing manoeuvre in which green, white and red smoke draws the Italian tricolour across the sky. More on the background and history of the team and on its second Adriatic date in 2026 in Lignano in our article Frecce Tricolori on the Adriatic 2026.
Fursan Al Emarat β return from the Emirates
One of the news items of 2026: Fursan Al Emarat, the aerobatic team of the United Arab Emirates, returned after its last Jesolo appearance in 2012. The team showed its new Hongdu L-15 jets in black-and-gold livery β a rare chance to see these aircraft live in Europe.
WeFly! Team β aerobatics as a symbol of inclusion
One of the most remarkable formations in the programme was the WeFly! Team: the world’s only aerobatic formation in which two of the three pilots have physical disabilities. Founded in 2007, the team is an ambassador of the Italian federation of disabled pilots “Baroni Rotti” and flies three home-built Van’s RV-7 aircraft with adapted controls that allow flying without using the legs β building the aircraft cost the pilots around 3,500 working hours. The team appears at the most important air shows in the world and stands for resilience and inclusion in aviation.
Other aerobatic and military teams
- Yakitalia β aerobatic team with Yak-50 and Yak-52 aircraft, the sturdy Soviet-built trainers that are now classics of the European aerobatic scene
- Andrea Pesenato β Italian solo aerobatic pilot with his CAP 231, known for tight, low-level figures
- Historic biplanes of the Fondazione Jonathan Collection: a replica of the SPAD XIII and the Caproni Ca.3 β both types date from the First World War and show how much has changed in a good hundred years of aviation
- Aircraft of the Italian Air Force and the HH.139B rescue helicopter of the 15th Wing (Search & Rescue)
- A H145M helicopter of the Hungarian armed forces as a further foreign guest
- Helicopters of the Italian fire service (Vigili del Fuoco), the coast guard (Guardia Costiera), the financial police (Guardia di Finanza) as well as Carabinieri and Polizia di Stato
As experience shows, the organisers add to the programme until shortly before the event β for the current status, look at the official site jesoloairshow.eu.
Where to watch: show centre and best spots
The official show centre is on the beach at Piazza Brescia β expect the biggest crowds here. The manoeuvres, however, are visible free of charge along the whole coastline, from Piazza Marina in the west to Piazza Manzoni in the east. If you prefer it quieter, find a free beach section away from Piazza Brescia β the view of the formations is comparably good from the whole seafront, you just do not hear the announcements and the stage presenters there.
Practical tips for your visit
- Respect the swimming ban: on the affected beach section a swimming ban applied on both days from 2:30 to 6:30 pm β for safety during the flight displays.
- No drones: a drone ban applies over the whole coast during the event.
- Be early: the show traditionally draws tens of thousands of visitors. If you want a good spot, be there several hours beforehand β with sun protection, water and a blanket.
- Ear protection for children: the low passes are loud. Ear defenders are recommended for small children.
- Getting there: expect full access roads and car parks on both days. Information on getting to the Adriatic beach resorts is at Getting to the Adriatic beach resorts.
- Accommodation: the weekend is in high demand in Jesolo β if you want to stay overnight, book early.
- Weather caveat: in strong wind or poor visibility the programme can be shortened or postponed. Short-notice updates are on the official event site.
Who is the visit worth it for?
| Persona | Suitability | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Aviation and technology fans | Very well suited | World-class aerobatic teams and rare historic aircraft, free of charge |
| Families with children | Suitable, with preparation | Bring ear protection, come early, look for a shady spot away from the densest crowds |
| Beachgoers seeking peace and quiet | Rather unsuitable | The beach is very full on both days, swimming ban during the show |
| Day trippers from Venice | Conditionally suitable | Attractive combined with a beach day, but allow for travel and the search for parking |
