Location: Lido di Jesolo, right on the 15-km beach

The Falkensteiner stands in the middle of the main beach of Lido di Jesolo — one of Italy’s best-known seaside resorts with a 15 km long, fine-sandy Adriatic beach. Right in front of the hotel are reserved loungers and parasols, behind them the promenade with bars, boutiques and ice-cream parlours, behind that the town with its lively atmosphere. In contrast to the quieter Almar in the eastern Pineta section there is more activity here, more families, more summer mood.

Anyone looking for a classic Adriatic beach holiday with a premium hotel who also wants the option of day trips to Venice is very much in the right place here. → More about Jesolo as a destination.

Rooms and suites — 45 to 150 m²

The Falkensteiner relies on big rooms — the smallest category already has 45 m², and the largest penthouse suite reaches 150 m². Four main categories:

  • Superior Room — the entry category, modern maritime design, private balcony, garden side or side sea view
  • Sandolo Suite — a larger suite with a separate living area, ideal for couples and small families
  • Sandolo Suite Superior Sea View — with a side sea view, more privacy
  • Seaside Penthouse — the premium top category with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen-living area and a large terrace with a view of the Adriatic — perfect for families or two couples together

All rooms have a private balcony or terrace, a bathroom with a rain shower, a Nespresso machine, high-quality beds and free WiFi. The maritime design language runs through the whole house.

Acquapura Blue Horizon Spa — 1,500 m² of wellness

The Acquapura Blue Horizon Spa is, besides the beach, the hotel’s second mainstay. Spread over 1,500 m² are:

  • 4 pools — indoor and outdoor basins, usable all year
  • Panorama sauna with sea view — infusions with a view of the Adriatic
  • Bio sauna, steam baths
  • Hammam (oriental steam bath)
  • Rasul (healing-earth steam bath)
  • Treatment rooms for massages, facial and body treatments with marine and Hawaiian essences
  • Beauty suites for individual treatments
  • Relax area with loungers and a tea station

Comparison: the Almar Jesolo has the larger spa (2,000 m²), while the Falkensteiner scores with the mix of a large pool landscape and child-friendly areas — families are thought of in the spa concept too.

Dining — three restaurants, three styles

  • Artigiani Restaurant — Mediterranean and Venetian classics, a balanced main restaurant, classic table reservation. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • PURO Cucina Autentica — the house’s premium concept, Italian finesse with a fine-dining ambition. À la carte in the evening, reservation strongly recommended, often well booked.
  • Hoku Restaurant — Mediterranean with Asian (especially Japanese) influences, sushi options, lighter menus — good as a change if you eat in the hotel for several days.

In addition several bars and aperitivo zones — by the pool, in the lobby and in the beach area.

Family-friendliness — the USP compared with the Almar

The Falkensteiner is deliberately family-oriented — unlike the Almar, which focuses more on couples and wellness travellers. Specifically:

  • Falky-Land kids’ club — a separate area, run by an entertainment team, organised in several age groups
  • Children’s pools — own basins in the spa area, a shallow area on the beach
  • Playground outdoors
  • Child-friendly menus in the restaurants
  • Family rooms and suites — the Seaside Penthouse category with two bedrooms is made explicitly for families
  • Babysitting service on request for a fee

Anyone travelling with children who does not want to end up in a pure entertainment resort, but not in an overly quiet adults’ hotel either, probably has the best balance of Jesolo’s premium hotels here.

Sport, fitness and activities

  • Gym with sea view — modern equipment, accessible all day
  • Yoga classes — regularly in the weekly programme
  • Beach activities — SUP, beach volleyball, pedal boats
  • Bicycle rental — Jesolo has a very good cycle-path network, a ride to Cavallino-Treporti is possible
  • Golf — a golf course is nearby (ask the hotel about current options)
  • Water-sports schools in the immediate surroundings — windsurfing, kitesurfing

Venice and surroundings — day trips

  • Venice (about 50 km) — most atmospheric by boat from Punta Sabbioni (vaporetto line 14, about 35–40 minutes), by car about 45 minutes to Piazzale Roma → Travel options Jesolo → Venice
  • Murano and Burano — reachable by boat trip, half-day tours from Punta Sabbioni
  • Cavallino-Treporti (about 10 km) — the peninsula between the lagoon and the Adriatic, quieter and closer to nature
  • Caorle (about 30 km) — a historic episcopal town with a mini-Venice character
  • Treviso (about 60 km) — a medieval town with canals and the Prosecco region
  • Valle Vecchia nature park (near Caorle) — dunes, bird watching, hikes
  • Prosecco region of Valdobbiadene (about 70 km) — wine estates with tastings

Who the Falkensteiner suits best

Decision helper: does the Falkensteiner suit your travel style?
Traveller typeFit
Families with children (any age)★★★★★ — kids’ club, entertainment team, children’s pools, playground, family penthouse — the best Jesolo premium family location
Premium beach holiday★★★★★ — private beach with loungers per room, 1,500 m² spa, 4 pools, 5-star standard
Wellness travellers★★★★★ — Acquapura spa with 4 pools, panorama sauna, hammam, rasul, a wide choice of treatments
Multi-generational holidays (grandparents + parents + children)★★★★★ — the Seaside Penthouse for the whole family, a separate kids’ club, a quieter beach area
Couples on a romantic break★★★★☆ — suites with a sea view, premium restaurants, but the hotel is family-oriented (a children’s noise backdrop depending on the season)
Honeymoons★★★☆☆ — possible (Seaside Penthouse), but for a quiet honeymoon rather the Almar or the Hilton Molino Stucky
Venice commuters (day trips)★★★★☆ — quite doable via the Punta Sabbioni vaporetto, but no hotel shuttle straight to Venice — anyone who wants that is better at the Hyatt Centric Murano
Sport / active holidaymakers★★★★☆ — yoga, fitness with a sea view, bicycle rental, golf nearby, water sports
Backpackers / budget travellers★☆☆☆☆ — clearly premium price segment, not a fit
Pure club / party holidaymakers★★☆☆☆ — the hotel itself is quieter, but Jesolo’s clubs in the centre are not far

Board basis — which option to choose?

  • Breakfast only (BB) — good for active families who are out during the day and fancy Jesolo venues in the evening
  • Half board (HB) — the most common choice, breakfast and dinner in the hotel (Artigiani or Hoku), lunch on the beach or out and about
  • Full board (FB) — sensible for pure beach-relaxation stays without many excursions
  • All inclusive (AI) — if offered, often relaxing for families with children, because there are no more restaurant discussions

Frequently asked questions about the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Jesolo

What distinguishes the Falkensteiner from the Almar Jesolo?

Both are 5-star hotels in Jesolo with a private beach and a large spa — the main difference lies in the target group. The Almar is quieter, in the eastern Pineta location, more focused on couples and adults’ wellness. The Falkensteiner sits more actively on the main beach and has an active family concept with a kids’ club and an entertainment team. Anyone travelling with children who wants premium is right here. Anyone seeking calm and pure wellness, there.

Is there a kids’ club and how does it work?

Yes — the Falky-Land kids’ club is a separate area with an entertainment team, run in several age groups. Activities range from creative workshops to sport on the beach and mini-disco evenings. Registration on the day of arrival at reception, with a daily programme. In high season (July/August) it runs throughout, in the shoulder season with reduced hours.

How far is the Falkensteiner from Venice?

About 50 km by road, roughly 45 minutes by car to Piazzale Roma. More atmospheric is the boat connection via Punta Sabbioni → Venice with vaporetto line 14 (about 35–40 minutes’ crossing; Punta Sabbioni is roughly half an hour from the hotel by car or bus). Overall allow around an hour and a half door to door from the hotel to St Mark’s Square. → Day trip Jesolo → Venice

How do the beach reservations work?

Each room has a reserved parasol with two loungers for the whole stay included — no daily reserving needed. According to the hotel, the first three beach rows are exclusive to suite guests, with the standard rows behind them. Anyone who wants a premium beach spot guaranteed should therefore book a suite.

Is the Seaside Penthouse worth it?

For families or two couples together — yes. The penthouse has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, its own kitchen-living combination and a large terrace with a view of the Adriatic. Calculated per person it is often cheaper than two separate suites, plus the atmosphere of a small “apartment” by the sea.

When is the Falkensteiner especially worthwhile?

June and September are the golden times — good weather, the spa comfortably warm, less family occupancy than high summer, warm pool water. July/August is high season with premium prices and the full entertainment programme — ideal with school-age children. May and October for pure spa stays without a beach focus.

Are pets allowed?

The Falkensteiner usually accepts smaller dogs on advance notice for a fee. Conditions can vary by season — have them clarified in advance via our travel advice.
